Zoe Bee Beauty is an increasingly popular creator of a wide range of natural, cruelty free, vegan skincare products for men, women and children of all ages. Named ‘Fashion & Beauty Entrepreneur of the Year: South East’, Zoe’s passion is to actively make a difference and spark confidence within everyone. Through the use of her creams, she’s changing the lives (and the skin) of hundreds of thousands of people all over the world.

Zoe Bee Beauty's challenge was to rapidly scale their product in a busy market. They were looking for a full service agency to work with who would be able to utilise all avenues of digital marketing to push the business further forward.

the solution

Our hands-on approach got all teams involved in proposing a new direction for the brand in 2021. With a focus on tidying up the brand and honing in on Zoe to establish more of a brand identity, we proposed a multi-channel strategy to help build authenticity and engagement on their platforms.

Initially, the plan was to use our talented Design & DevHub teams to create a fresh, exciting website for Zoe. Using the creative skillset of our Media Team, we managed to produce high-quality product imagery for use on the site & social media. Due to the demand for creams - we worked closely with Zoe herself on designing a solution to carefully plan & manage restock on the website through email marketing.

Using the Zoe Bee Brand Guidelines as a base, we further developed them by designing bespoke illustrations for use on graphic materials, the website and social media graphics. Our main aim was to highlight the natural tone of the brand by giving it this raw and ethical look. Other creative elements focused on emphasising the fact that the brand is vegan and ethical.

All graphic design produced by ONQOR looked at translating the caring, friendly relationship that Founder, Zoe, has with her followers, fostering a notion of the close-knit community. Overall, aligning Zoe's personal nature nicely with defining a soft, calming feel to the brand through their design assets.

Print Design

Zoe Bee's products tend to sell out very quickly, sometimes leaving a large proportion of consumers unable to purchase. In turn, this left consumers cross, which was an issue we wanted to address in the right way. The plan was to shift the focus of how rare the Zoe Bee Creams are from an issue into something positive. We did this by personalising the customer experience through designing a leaflet that would be placed in each order box. By doing this we created a stronger link between Zoe and her customers.

The purpose of the leaflet was to inform customers of the benefits of different creams, as well as educating them on how to use and apply the cream which was found to be a recurring question from customers. In terms of design, we created the leaflet so it would reflect the pure, ethical mission and values of the brand and product. We used the illustration we developed for Zoe Bee as the main graphic element on the leaflet. In turn, making the process of receiving an order a unique experience, encouraging customers to feel very lucky to have been able to purchase the product.

Graphic Design

To enable wider use of graphic assets across diverse materials, we designed new graphic assets for the brand guidelines. ONQOR Design developed bespoke iconography to reinforce the idea of the exclusive, tight-knit community that Zoe Bee has. When it came to social media, we wanted to really showcase the natural, pure element of the brand using these same illustrations.

So, we developed Instagram Story themes for Zoe to use because the Zoe Bee Social Media account was very active on publishing story content. We wanted to structure this in a more impactful and on-brand way.

UI / UX Design

Zoe Bee Beauty contracted us to design & develop a website inspired by pastel, earthy colours and Zoe Bee’s organic product. Using simplistic but bespoke iconography relating to the simplicity of the product, we aimed to showcase the brand as organic and natural rather pharmaceutical or chemical. With illustrations inspired by botanical artwork, our focus was on maintaining existing functionality of the website but enhancing the branding to create better brand recognition.

We wanted to put emphasis on first person communication and tone of voice, effectively communicating the values of Zoe Bee to her community. The new website had to communicate the restocking method better, so we designed a 'countdown' element for the homepage which also linked to a newsletter sign up form. In turn, allowing Zoe Bee to maintain regular communication between the company and customers.

E-commerce Photoshoot

This photoshoot complimented the “I Am Zoe Bee” video we produced for the client. The focus was photographing Zoe across a broad range of lifestyle and portraiture. This formed the beginning of a huge archive of photo content of Zoe, the factory and her lifestyle for use on their new website, social media and PR.

These photographs were taken to compliment the Luxury Video. These specific photographs ended up in a magazine, whose audience is made up of more affluent readers. This photoshoot focused on the high-end, luxurious feel of the creams and the benefits - part of the clients shift to target more affluent customers.

With their new website being developed, our Media team were tasked with photography of the entire range of Zoe Bee Beauty creams to add as product shots on the website, but also providing high-quality content for social media pages.

Luxury Video

Our team worked on producing a video that introduces the woman behind the brand, Zoe Bee. We talk to Zoe about how she got started and what her journey to the current state of the business has been like. This was Zoe’s first major video feature, so we had a chance to work with her to develop a whole new element of her personal branding, which we also supported with photo content. This was the first step in her journey of developing quality content for PR use as well.

Zoe Bee Beauty made the decision to focus their marketing efforts on a higher net-worth target audience recently and requested for us to produce photo and video content with a complimentary, luxury feel to it. We created a luxury promotional video in an upmarket flat in Central London. The photography and videography end results largely complimented one another and were part of a wider PR push for the business.

Email marketing

With such high demand for Zoe Bee Beauty products, we were tasked with creating a buzz around consumers joining the waiting list to be notified of the next product drop. This involved creating intriguing email newsletters in order to reach out to the vastly expanding audience. We designed the emails to be personal, informative and compelling.

Ensuring the emails were on-brand and had Zoe's tone of voice, we relaid key information to increase sales using restock reminders on a weekly basis. Our dedication to the brand meant that we were able to boost their audience both by social following and customer purchasing.
